Competitive Sting 2025/26

The competitive teams that are formed will compete in the Southern OWHL loop. The OWHL southern loop is set by OWHA, 24/25 season included teams from North Bay, Central York, Orillia, Barrie, Collingwood, Orangeville, Midland, New Tecumseth and Georgina. The teams can expect 2 practices a week, for a total of approximately 40 practice times, and would play approximately 22 games in the regular season (as set by OWHL), plus league playoff and provincial playdown games.

The registration price for the Competitive Teams will be $850 for the OWHL regular season, with additional fees for: Team Gear, Tournament Fees, Team Functions, Additional Games such as Playoffs, Provincials, Exhibition Games etc.

****HGHA Board apologizes for the error made in the registration price for Competitive Teams, it was originally posted at $800. The actual registration cost is $850 for the 2025/2026 season. Sorry for any confusion.

All players trying out for the Huntsville GHA Competitive Teams will register for the tryout package for their division.

Registration will OPEN MARCH 25th, 2025.

 

The fee is $75 and includes PRE-Evaluation SKATES and TRYOUTS. All participants will register only once and pay the same registration fee regardless of the level.

1. To be selected to one of our U11, U13, U15, U18 competitive teams for the 2025/2026 season, players must register Competitive Tryouts Registration Page for and participate in the tryout process. (Health exceptions for those unable to participate will be considered on a case-by-case basis and MUST be in writing prior to tryouts). Please contact hgha@hotmail.ca

 

2. ALL players/goalies that currently belong to another OWHA association that are planning to attend Huntsville GHA TRYOUTS must log into the RAMP REGISTRATION Competitive Tryouts Registration Page portal to PURCHASE the 2025/2026 TRYOUT PACKAGE for their age division. Players who were registered with another OWHA association for the 2024/2025 season (or before) will require a valid Permission to Skate form issued by the current or last association.

 

3. Players who have previously played with an Ontario Minor Hockey Association team and are planning the attend TRYOUTS must log into the RAMP REGISTRATION Competitive Tryouts Registration Page portal to PURCHASE the 2025/2026 TRYOUT PACKAGE for their age division. No further action is required, as long as they have never been registered with an OWHA association - otherwise a Permission to Skate Form is required.

 

4. If selected to a Huntsville Sting Competitive Team, registration with the Huntsville Sting will trigger a release from the player's previous association and the transfer of their membership to HGHA. Players must ensure that all requirements for release from their previous association are met.

 

 

Coaches will be making team selections and cuts throughout/following the tryout process. Coaches may provide additional details as it pertains to each team.
