About HGHA

Female hockey in North America is booming and the Huntsville Girls Hockey Association is proud to be a part of the movement! Having grown from 1 team at conception in 1972, to 9 teams in the 2022/23 season, we are excited to now announce the addition of a girls dual roster competitive stream beginning for the season of 2023/24!

HGHA is proud to offer hockey programs for girls starting at age 4. At this age (Bumble Bees), players will focus on the development of skating and hockey skills in a fun and encouraging environment. Teams from U9 to U18 will, once again, be playing in the North Simcoe/Muskoka Girls House League. The SMGHL is a travel house league which includes girls teams from Huntsville, Barrie, Orillia, Collingwood and Midland.

The season includes an 18 game schedule, weekly practices and two tournaments (one home and one away).

HGHA is also home to a competitive Senior team (OWHA 2016 Provincial 'C' Champs).

HGHA has 152 registered players for the 2022/23 season, 50 coaching staff volunteers and 11 HGHA board members.
