Coach and Bench Staff Registration Process

Thank you for choosing to volunteer with HGHA. Together, we are building both strong teams and lasting memories. We could not do it without you!

You will need to complete the following to be able to be rostered to a team:

1. POLICE CHECK - APPLY FOR YOUR VULNERABLE SECTOR CHECK (VSC) - ALL STAFF
   All staff who will be on the ice, bench, or in a dressing room at any time will require a Vulnerable Sector Check to be completed. Click here for information on how to apply for your VSC and the links required.
   
   
2. SCREENING & DECLARATION SUBMISSION - ALL STAFF
   All staff members must complete the OHF’s Screening & Declaration Submission process. Click here for instructions on how to Upload your VSC and complete your Declaration.
   
   
3. RESPECT IN SPORT - ALL STAFF
   All staff who will be on the ice, bench, or in a dressing room at any time are required to complete the Respect In Sport for Hockey Activity Leaders. Once the course has been completed, your Respect in Sport Certificate will be automatically uploaded to your Spordle Account.
   
   
4. GENDER IDENTITY & EXPERSSION - ALL STAFF
   You will need to complete the Gender Identity and Expression course through Spordle. Here is the link: Gender Identity & Expression course.
   
   
5. HOCKEY TRAINER CERTIFICATION PROGRAM - TRAINERS ONLY
   All trainers must complete the Trainers course and get their Trainer’s certificate. Please use this link for information on Trainer’s Qualifications: Click here for the OWHA's Trainer Information Page.
   Please use this link: Hockey Trainers Certification Program to complete the Hockey Trainers Certification Program. Once the course has been completed, your HTCP will be automatically uploaded to your Spordle Account.
   
   
6. COACH CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS - COACHES & ASSISTANT COACHES ONLY

7. REGISTER ON RAMP - ALL STAFF
   All staff members (Coaches, Assistant Coaches, Trainers, Managers, Dressing Room Monitors and On-Ice Instructors) must register through the OWHA’s RAMP registration system. Click HERE for instructions and the registration link.
